Abstract

La presente invención describe un proceso para la oxidación parcial catalítica de una existencia de alimentación de hidrocarburo, que comprende la existencia de alimentación de hidrocarburo, un gas que contiene oxígeno y, opcionalmente, el vapor, en una relación molar de oxígeno a carbono en el intervalo de desde 0.45 a 0.75 a presión elevada, con un catalizador en la zona de reacción bajo condiciones adiabáticas, el catalizador comprende un metal seleccionado del grupo VIII de la Tabla Periódica, soportado sobre un transportador, y el catalizador es retenido dentro de la zona de reacción en una disposición fija, que tiene una alta sinuosidad o tortuosidad. La disposición fija del catalizador es preferiblemente un lecho fijo de un catalizador particulado o un material alveolar cerámico.
