Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una serie de mutaciones no transgénicas inducidas por el humano independientes encontradas en uno o más de los genes Lpx de trigo; las plantas de trigo que tienen estas mutaciones en uno o más de sus genes Lpx; y un método para crear y descubrir mutaciones similares y/o adicionales de Lpx al analizar plantas de trigo en conjunto y/o individuales; las plantas de trigo aquí descritas presentan una actividad de lipoxigenasa disminuida sin tener la inclusión de ácidos nucleicos ajenos en sus genomas; además, productos producidos a partir de las plantas de trigo aquí descritas, presentan una estabilidad oxidativa incrementada y una vida de anaquel incrementada sin tener la inclusión de ácidos nucleicos ajenos en sus genomas.
