Abstract
Un proceso para producir un gas reductor para su uso en la producción de hierro de reducción directa (DRI) y gas combustible para usarse en una planta de acero, que comprende: comprimir una corriente de gas de horno de coque (COG) en un compresor; pasar la corriente de gas de horno de coque comprimida a través de un lecho de carbón vegetal activado para eliminar el alquitrán de la corriente de gas de horno de coque comprimida; separar una corriente de gas rico en hidrógeno de la corriente de gas de horno de coque comprimida limpia con el uso de una unidad de absorción de presión oscilante; proporcionar la corriente de gas rico en hidrógeno hacia un horno de eje de reducción directa como un gas reductor; y proporcionar un resto de corriente de gas desde la unidad de absorción de presión oscilante hacia una planta de acero como gas combustible. Se presentan ambas opciones, la de un sólo paso y de reciclado. Opcionalmente, se agrega gas de horno de oxígeno básico (BOFG) al gas reductor.
