Abstract

Se proporciona un medidor de biosensores (10a) para determinar la concentración de un analito en un fluido, tal como glucosa en sangre. El medidor de biosensores incluye un puerto USB (14a) que tiene una primera terminal de puerto de señales de datos (32d´) y un circuito de detección (50a) que incluye una primera terminal de entrada y una terminal de salida. La primera terminal de entrada del circuito de detección (50a) se acopla a la primera terminal de puerto de señales de datos (32d´). El circuito de detección (50a) proporciona en la terminal de salida una primera señal de salida cuando una corriente percibida en la primera terminal de entrada es mayor que o igual a una primera cantidad predeterminada y una segunda señal de salida cuando la corriente percibida en la primera terminal de entrada es menor que la primera cantidad predeterminada. El circuito de detección está configurado para detectar si el puerto USB (14a) del medidor de biosensores (10a) está conectado al puerto USB (14b) de otro dispositivo electrónico, tal como una computadora (12) y para indicar al usuario del medidor que no lleve a cabo una medición con el propósito de reducir el riesgo de choque eléctrico.
