La presente divulgación se refiere a un método y a un dispositivo para desplegar imágenes, y pertenece al campo de la tecnología de terminales; el método incluye: cuando se recibe una instrucción para abrir un álbum, agrupar imágenes similares en el álbum para obtener una pluralidad de grupos de imágenes; seleccionar una imagen de cada uno de los grupos de imágenes como una imagen representativa del grupo de imágenes; y desplegar las imágenes representativas de los grupos de imágenes; en la presente divulgación, la terminal agrupa imágenes similares en el álbum para obtener una pluralidad de grupos de imágenes; la terminal selecciona una imagen de los grupos obtenidos de imágenes como una imagen representativa, la imagen representativa teniendo una mejor calidad de imagen; y la terminal despliega la imagen representativa; de este modo, se puede mejorar el efecto de despliegue de las imágenes representativas de los grupos de imágenes.
