Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a una solución acuosa de alcanolamina para la eliminación del ácido sulfhídrico derivado de mezclas gaseosas. La solución acuosa de alcanolamina comprende (i) un compuesto amino con la fórmula: R1R2NCH2CH(OH)CH2OH en la cual R1 y R2 representan independientemente grupos alquilo inferiores de 1 a 3 átomos de carbono y (ii) un ácido o material de formación de ácido que tiene un pKa igual o menor que 8, opcionalmente (iii) otro compuesto amino, y opcionalmente (iv) un solvente físico. Además, la presente invención se refiere a un proceso para eliminar gases ácidos derivados de una mezcla gaseosa, preferentemente ácido sulfhídrico, que comprende la etapa para contactar la mezcla gaseosa con la solución acuosa de alcanolamina, preferentemente en la que la temperatura de la solución acuosa de alcanolamina es igual o mayor que 140°F (60°C). Algunos ejemplos de mezclas gaseosas incluyen gas natural, gas de síntesis, gas residual, gas de cola, y gas de refinería.
