Abstract
Se describe un monitor/desfibrilador (100) con un sensor de imagen óptica (114) tal como un lector de código de barras o un lector de caracteres ópticos para precisa y oportunamente capturar la información durante un evento de tratamiento médico. El. lector de código de barras o caracteres ópticos permite capturar en un paso la información de identificación del paciente, las sustancias terapéuticas administradas, el equipo y otra información del evento. La información se descodifica por el monitor/desfibrilador y se captura en la memoria del sistema para uso posterior.
