Abstract
Método para estimar la incertidumbre en un modelo de propiedad física generado al invertir los datos geofísicos medidos, por ejemplo un modelo de resistividad deducido de los datos de campo electromagnético. El método involucra tan pocos como una inversión de datos (32) acoplada con un número de simulaciones hacia adelante (37). Las soluciones (modelos) alternativas se generan (39) al sondear un espacio de perturbación (35) definido de un espacio de modelo reducido (34) que resulta de una descomposición del componente principal (33) del modelo invertido, y al seleccionar algunos de los componentes más grandes. Las técnicas de análisis estadístico se pueden aplicar (a aquellas soluciones alternativas que permanecen después del umbral) para generar estimados de incertidumbre cuantitativos (42) aplicables al modelo invertido (32).
