Abstract

Se describe un método para deionizar agua mediante deionización capacitiva comprendiendo series repetitivas de ciclos durante los cuales el agua es pasada a través de al menos un par de electrodos cargados de manera opuesta, comprendiendo cada ciclo: (i) un paso de carga; (ii) un primer paso de corto circuito; (iii) un paso de descarga que consiste de la reversión de la carga aplicada sobre los electrodos; y (iv) un segundo paso de corto circuito, en donde la polaridad aplicada a cada electrodo en cada par de electrodos cargados de manera opuesta durante dicho paso de carga de una serie dada de ciclos repetitivos es revertida durante el paso de carga de la justo siguiente serie de ciclos repetitivos y en donde cada una de dichas series comprende 10 a 20 ciclos.
