Método para extraer petróleo de una formación subterránea que comprende un paso consistente en inyectar en la formación subterránea una composición acuosa que contiene carboxilatos de alquil y/o alqu(en)iI oligoglucósido (éter), y método de inundación con surfactantes alcalinos y de inundación con polímeros de surfactantes alcalinos haciendo uso de esos carboxilatos de alquil y/o alqu(en)il oligoglucósido (éter).
