Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una planta de proceso para la oxidación de SO2 a SO3 en un gas de proceso, la planta de proceso comprende un intercambiador de calor configurado para calentar el gas de proceso por medio del intercambio de calor con un gas de proceso oxidado y/o un gas de proceso oxidado adicionalmente al proporcionar contacto térmico entre el gas de proceso y el gas de proceso oxidado y/o el gas de proceso oxidado adicionalmente, una primera zona de material catalíticamente activo en la oxidación de SO2 a SO3 y una caldera configurada para contener vapor que es calentado por el gas de proceso oxidado y/o el gas de proceso oxidado adicionalmente después de que el gas de proceso oxidado ha sido enfriado en el intercambiador de calor caracterizado porque el gas de proceso oxidado enfriado en la caldera no se condensa con el beneficio de la provisión de la posibilidad de un intercambiador de calor más pequeño el cual se puede hacer con materiales resistentes a la corrosión solo moderados, en comparación con una planta de proceso de acuerdo con la técnica anterior, así como también un proceso relacionado.
