Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a método mejorado para producir modificadores de terreno, a partir de materias de desecho de fabricación de dióxido de titanio, que comprenden un óxido férrico y sulfato férrico, caracterizado por: preparar un material que consiste esencialmentede sulfato ferroso hidratado con un número promedio de moléculas de agua de cristalización de 1 a 5, con el retiro parcial del agua de cristalización por la deshidratación del material del desecho el que consiste esencialmente de sulfato ferroso heptahidratado obtenido en la preparación de dióxido de titanio desde ilmenitas o escorias de limenita por el proceso de sulfatado; y calcinar el material a una temperatura de 500º a 600ºC., en la presencia de un gas oxidante, por un período tal que convierta del 80 al 95 por ciento en peso de material en óxido férrico y sulfato férrico para obtener un modificador del suelo que comprende del 80 al 95 por ciento en peso de una mezcla de óxido férrico y sulfato férrico en una proporción en peso óxido/sulfato de 0.2:1 a 2:1.
