Abstract

La invención comprende un dispositivo y método para impactar el comportamiento de invertebrados que infestan la madera, sin el uso de químicos. En particular, la invención es útil para impactar el comportamiento de invertebrados que perforan la madera, los cuales infestan productos de madera, tablas y las porciones de madera de plantas y árboles. La invención utiliza agentes acústicos (sónicos) que pueden modularse opcionalmente con señales específicas para provocar efectos negativos en los comportamientos normales mostrados por los invertebrados que infestan la madera, lo cual puede resultar en que los invertebrados sean dañados o exterminados, incapaces de reproducirse o puedan escapar hacia la madera que infestan los invertebrados.
