Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para la purificación de agua vía congelación. El proceso puede incluir: poner en contacto una mezcla acuosa con un medio de flotación, en donde el medio de flotación tiene una densidad mayor o igual a la densidad del hielo o hidrato y menor que la densidad de la mezcla acuosa o salmuera concentrada en su punto de congelación; reducir la temperatura de la mezcla acuosa a una temperatura menor o igual al punto de congelación de la mezcla acuosa para formar hielo o hidrato y un concentrado; separación de fases del concentrado y el medio de flotación; recuperación del concentrado y recuperación del hielo o hidrato y medio de flotación como una suspensión. Después de la fusión, separación de fases del agua resultante del medio de flotación puede proveer un producto de agua purificada.
