Abstract

La presente invención incluye métodos y composiciones relacionadas con el asentamiento de fluidos o lechadas en un pozo. En una representación, un método de aislamiento de una parte de un pozo incluye la preparación de una composición selladora que tiene un componente líquido, un constituyente aditivo polimérico y un componente modificador del asentamiento. La composición selladora se coloca en un pozo y se somete a radiación ionizante. La radiación ionizante puede ocasionar la unión entre los componentes aditivos poliméricos y crear una matriz polimérica dentro de la composición selladora que aumenta la resistencia mecánica de la composición selladora. La radiación ionizante también altera el componente modificador del asentamiento, provocando o activando el engrosamiento de la composición selladora.
