Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una nueva cepa de Bacillus subtilis NRRL 8-50055 productora de metabolitos secundarios, sustancias bioactivas y enzimas degradativas. Esta bacteria y/o su sobrenadante tienen propiedades de inhibir el crecimiento de hongos, bacterias, insectos y nematodos, ya sea en la planta, en el fruto, en la raíz o en suelos contaminados por estos patógenos. Asimismo, esta bacteria y/o su sobrenadante tienen la propiedad de promover la germinación de la semilla, el crecimiento de la raíz y el crecimiento de las plantas, al actuar como biofertilizante orgánico, induciendo la degradación de nutrientes del suelo y su mejor asimilación por la semilla, la raíz y la planta. Incluidos en la invención hay métodos para proteger y/o tratar plantas, frutos y suelos, de enfermedades que afectan a los cultivos, utilizando la bacteria, el sobrenadante o los metabolitos puros o semipuros. Asimismo, incluidos en la invención hay formulaciones para tratar y proteger plantas, frutos y suelos de enfermedades que afectan a los cultivos, utilizando la bacteria, el sobrenadante o los metabolitos puros o semipuros.
