Abstract
Las modalidades de la divulgación se refieren a métodos y composiciones relacionadas con la optimización de la selección de unidades de sangre de cordón umbilical para producir células inmunitarias, tal como células NK, para uso en terapia celular adoptiva. En modalidades específicas, se analizan las características particulares de las unidades de sangre de cordón umbilical y/o las características de las células derivadas de las mismas. Cuando se cumple una medición de umbral para una o más características para la o las unidades de sangre de cordón umbilical y/o las características de las células derivadas de las mismas, la o las unidades de sangre de cordón umbilical se utilizan como una fuente para la producción de células inmunitarias. Las características específicas para la medición incluyen viabilidad de células de sangre de cordón umbilical, recuperación de células nucleares totales y contenido de glóbulos rojos nucleados, cada uno antes de la crioconservación, y opcionalmente citotoxicidad y/o expansión de células inmunitarias después de la crioconservación.
