Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para producir metil mercaptano, que comprende los siguientes pasos: A) se hace reaccionar metanol con sulfuro de hidrógeno para formar una corriente (M), preferiblemente en forma gaseosa, que comprende metil mercaptano, H2S sin reaccionar y posiblemente subproductos de azufre; B) opcionalmente, tal corriente (M) es condensada; C) al menos un paso de purificación de tal corriente (M) se realiza para obtener una corriente enriquecida en metil mercaptano; D) los desfogues gaseosos que resultan a partir de al menos tal paso de purificación son recuperados, tales desfogues gaseosos comprenden al menos un compuesto de azufre, preferiblemente H2S; E) una extracción de gas-líquido de al menos tal compuesto de azufre, preferiblemente H2S, se realiza con metanol líquido así como para obtener un metanol líquido enriquecido en compuesto(s) de azufre, preferiblemente en H2S; y F) opcionalmente, tal metanol enriquecido es usado como reactivo para la reacción del paso A).
