Abstract
Los tumores utilizan múltiples mecanismos para evitar la respuesta inmunitaria antitumoral del hospedero. La inmunosupresión humoral es uno de los mecanismos. Los tumores producen factores circulantes que pueden suprimir respuestas inmunitarias mediadas por anticuerpos o complementos para mejorar su propia supervivencia. La mesotelina es una proteína de superficie celular sobreexpresada por varios tipos de cáncer que están asociadas con tumores que presentan microambientes inmunosuprimidos. Los anticuerpos anti-mesotelina se someten frecuentemente a tales microambientes inmunosupresivos. Sin embargo, los anticuerpos anti-mesotelina alternativamente formateados son efectivos para destruir cánceres que expresan mesotelina independientemente del estado inmunitario del microambiente tumoral.
