Abstract
Se desarrollan sistemas y métodos para la implementación de un sistema de evaluación de SIBO portátil para un muestreo conveniente de gases intestinales exhalados en el aliento de un paciente. Estos dispositivos pueden encontrarse en forma de un medidor portátil que se integrará con un teléfono inteligente u otro dispositivo con una aplicación que puede registrar datos que se relacionan con alimentos consumidos por un usuario. Pueden utilizarse diversas tecnologías para medir los niveles de gases exhalados por un usuario, que pueden incluir (1) tecnología a base de un absorbente y (2) tecnología a base de membrana. En algunos ejemplos, el sistema determinará una indicación de si un paciente tiene SIBO mediante el ajuste de un cambio en la concentración de hidrógeno exhalado en un nivel de metano exhalado por un paciente.
