Abstract
Un producto fibroso en capas comprende al menos una capa seleccionada de una capa no tejida y una capa de papel tisú, en donde la al menos una capa seleccionada de una capa no tejida y una capa de papel tisú comprende fibras celulósicas comprendiendo un ácido policarboxílico orgánico y en donde el ácido policarboxílico orgánico tiene al menos un grupo carboxilo unido covalentemente a las fibras celulósicas y al menos un grupo carboxilo libre. Debido a la presencia de enlaces químicos covalentes entre un grupo carboxilo del ácido policarboxílico y grupos hidroxi de las fibras celulósicas presentes en todos los substratos, el producto fibroso en capas despliega un pH ácido de larga duración incluso después de haberse enjuagado con agua. En algunas modalidades un pH ácido de larga duración puede lograrse en los no tejidos tratados con un ácido policarboxílico orgánico incluso después de lavarse con un detergente para lavar.
