Abstract
Se proporciona un proceso para despolimerización de un poli(alquilen de C2-C4 tereftalato), que comprende poner en contacto un poli(alquilen de C2-C4 tereftalato) con metanol y un catalizador elegido de carbonato de potasio, carbonato de sodio, metóxido de magnesio, 1,8-diazabiciclo[5.4.0]undec-7-eno y triazabiciclodeceno, a una temperatura suficiente para efectuar la despolimerización. El proceso de la invención se puede llevar a cabo a una temperatura sustancialmente menor y requiere menos metanol que el necesario para reacciones catalizadas con acetato de zinc, y es suficientemente robusto o fuerte para tolerar las alimentaciones de desecho de poli(alquilen de C2-C4 tereftalato) de menor calidad.
