Abstract

El presente desarrollo hace referencia a un dispositivo pasivo de disipación de energía sísmica, en base a fricción mecánica entre componentes del mismo, configurado para localizarse en la base de columnas de estructuras metálicas pertenecientes al sistema sismorresistente de una edificación o instalación; ya sea de características urbanas o industriales. El dispositivo disipador friccional puede incluirse como parte del sistema sismorresistente original de una estructura, como también incorporarse en estructuras existentes en el contexto de una rehabilitación o refuerzo estructural.
