Abstract

Un método para la localización basada en imagen incluye, en un dispositivo de tipo cámara, capturar una pluralidad de imágenes de un entorno del mundo real. Un primer conjunto de características de imagen se detecta en una primera imagen de la pluralidad de imágenes. Antes de que se detecten los conjuntos adicionales de características de imagen en otras imágenes de la pluralidad, el primer conjunto de características de imagen se transmite a un dispositivo remoto configurado para estimar una posición del dispositivo de tipo cámara con base en las características de imagen detectadas en la pluralidad de imágenes. A medida que se detectan los conjuntos adicionales de características de imagen en las otras imágenes de la pluralidad, los conjuntos adicionales de características de imagen se transmiten al dispositivo remoto.
