Abstract
La presente descripción proporciona microorganismos recombinantes y métodos para la producción de 4 HMF, 2,4-furandimetanol, furan-2,4-dicarbaldehído, ácido 4-(hidroximetil)furoico, 2-formilfuran-4-carboxilato, 4-formilfuran-2-carboxilato y/o 2,4-FDCA a partir de una fuente de carbono. El método proporciona microorganismos modificados que expresan moléculas de ácido nucleico endógenas y/o exógenas que catalizan la conversión de una fuente de carbono en 4-HMF, 2,4-furandimetanol, furan-2,4-dicarbaldehído, ácido 4-(hidroximetil)furoico, 2-formilfuran-4-carboxilato, 4-formilfuran-2-carboxilato y/o 2,4-FDCA. La descripción proporciona además métodos para producir polímeros derivados de 4-HMF, 2,4-furandimetanol, furan-2,4-dicarbaldehído, ácido 4-(hidroximetil)furoico, 2-formilfuran-4-carboxilato, 4-formilfuran-2 carboxilato 10 y/o 2,4-FDCA.
