Abstract

Se describe un método para formar una barrera antioxidante protectora sobre los electrodos de un horno usando un líquido refrigerante químicamente alterado que contiene un aditivo antioxidante; este método puede aplicarse a los electrodos usados en hornos de arco eléctrico y hornos de metalurgia de caldero; el método puede implicar pulverizar el líquido refrigerante sobre el electrodo, formando de esta manera la barrera antioxidante protectora y reduciendo la oxidación del electrodo.
