Abstract

Un método de acoplamiento oxidativo de metano (OCM) autotérmico utiliza la introducción de un material de alimentación que contiene metano y un material de alimentación que contiene gas oxígeno en un reactor (10) como una mezcla fluyente (18) con un espacio de tiempo de 500 ms o menos. El reactor (10) contiene un lecho de catalizador (20) de un catalizador de OCM que hace contacto con la mezcla fluyente y en donde el lecho de catalizador (20) tiene un número de Peclet de calor (Peh) de 5 o menos, un número de Peclet de masa (Pem) de 5 o más, y un número de Peclet transversal (P) de 1 o menos mientras que hace contacto con la mezcla fluyente. El metano y oxígeno de los materiales de alimentación se dejan reaccionar dentro del reactor (10) para formar productos de reacción de acoplamiento oxidativo de metano. También se describe un reactor (10) para llevar a cabo la reacción de OCM.
