Abstract
Para reducir la corrosión de los tubos, particularmente en la producción de ácido sulfúrico, la invención proporciona un intercambiador de calor de carcasa y tubo (1) en el que la disposición de los tubos (20) en el haz de tubos (2) define un conjunto de tubos que incluye un canal exterior (23) desprovisto de tubos entre la periferia del haz de tubos (2) y la pared de la carcasa (41); en donde una placa protectora (5) está dispuesta entre el haz de tubos (2) y la pared de carcasa (41) para cubrir el haz de tubos (2) paralelo al eje longitudinal (43) por lo menos en el área opuesta a la abertura de entrada (13) y en el que el conjunto de tubos incluye por lo menos un espacio vacío (6) que divide el haz de tubos (2) en una dirección sustancialmente perpendicular al eje longitudinal (43), en el que un espacio vacío (6) se encuentra en particular entre la placa protectora (5) y el eje longitudinal (43).
