Abstract
Un diseño y método optimizado de lente de contacto que aprovecha la energía de deformación del sistema cuando se coloca en el ojo, que mejora las características de centrado, traslación y estabilización, o cualquier combinación de estos, a fin de mejorar la comodidad y la visión; un diseño y metodología de lente de contacto en los que se optimiza la energía de deformación lente-ojo obtenida para lograr la función deseada, ya sea centrado, traslación o estabilización; dado que la energía de deformación de la lente está determinada directamente por la cantidad de deformación de la lente, es posible controlar la energía de deformación de la lente por medio del módulo del material, diseño de la geometría de la lente, es decir, los radios o la curvatura, perfiles de grosor periférico, formas del borde o del canto; la presión de la superficie y/o energía de deformación de la lente pueden optimizarse para una población dada al promediar la forma/ superficie ocular del ojo; alternativamente, la energía de deformación de la lente puede optimizarse para un solo ojo dado (es decir, diseño personalizado).
