Abstract
La invención se refiere a un sistema de regulación de azúcar en sangre que incluye: un sensor de azúcar en sangre; un dispositivo de inyección de insulina; y una unidad de control y procesamiento que predice la evolución futura del azúcar en sangre con base en un modelo fisiológico y que controla por consiguiente el dispositivo de inyección de insulina, en donde la unidad de control y procesamiento es capaz de: a) implementar una calibración del modelo al tomar en cuenta un historial del azúcar en sangre medido; b) al final del paso de calibración, determinar si el modelo es satisfactorio o no con base en al menos un indicador numérico representativo del error entre el azúcar en sangre estimado con base en el modelo y el azúcar en sangre real medido por el sensor; y c) si la calidad del modelo no es satisfactoria, controlar el dispositivo de inyección de insulina sin tomar en cuenta la predicción hecha desde el modelo.
