Abstract
Esta invención se refiere a composiciones y métodos para la reducción del olor y la emisión de formaldehído durante la producción y el curado de núcleos y moldes, en particular aquellos núcleos y moldes de la industria de la fundición que comprenden aglutinantes fenólicos curables con ésteres. Más específicamente, en la presente se incluye un agente de curado de éster que comprende un éster y resorcinol que, cuando se proporciona en una composición con una resina y un agregado, elimina eficazmente el formaldehído que no ha reaccionado, reduciendo así la emisión y el olor del mismo de la composición.
