Abstract
La invención se relaciona con un dispositivo (100) para tratamiento de la piel por RF, que comprende un electrodo activo (1) colocado en un lado operacional (15) del dispositivo y que tiene una primera superficie de contacto con la piel, en contacto con la piel de un usuario, primera superficie de contacto con la piel la cual tiene una dimensión en su sección transversal más grande que es más pequeña que o igual a 2 mm. El dispositivo comprende un electrodo de retorno (2) colocado en el lado operacional (15) del dispositivo y que tiene una segunda superficie de contacto con la piel para contacto con la piel del usuario, en donde un área de la segunda superficie de contacto con la piel es por lo menos cinco veces más grande que un área de la primera superficie de contacto con la piel. Un generador de RF (21) se coloca para suministrar un voltaje de tratamiento por RF entre el electrodo activo (1) y el electrodo de retorno (2) de manera que calienta una región de la piel por debajo del electrodo activo, en donde el voltaje de tratamiento por RF tiene una frecuencia en un intervalo de 100 MHz - 3 GHz. Al utilizar una frecuencia del voltaje de tratamiento por RF en el intervalo mencionado, una profundidad de lesiones térmicas formadas por debajo del electrodo activo como resultado de la aplicación del voltaje de tratamiento por RF se incrementa de manera considerable en comparación con dispositivos de tratamiento de la piel por RF utilizando un voltaje de tratamiento por RF comparable pero con una frecuencia mucho menor.
