Abstract
La presente descripción se refiere a métodos para apoyar la resistencia al crecimiento de bacterias en el tracto gastrointestinal de un sujeto, particularmente en el de un infante humano. En ciertas modalidades, el método comprende administrar a un sujeto una composición nutricional que tiene una baja resistencia amortiguadora, en donde la administración de la composición nutricional disminuye los recuentos bacterianos de bacterias seleccionadas del grupo que consiste de E. coli enteropatogénica (EPEC), E. coli enteroagregativa (EAEC), Cronobacter sakazakii, Salmonella enterica, y combinaciones de las mismas en el tracto gastrointestinal del sujeto. Esta descripción se refiere además a la manufactura y uso de composiciones nutricionales con baja capacidad amortiguadora en métodos para modular la acidez gástrica y/o en métodos para mejorar la velocidad de vaciado gástrico en un sujeto, cada método comprende un paso de administrar por lo menos una de las composiciones nutricionales poco amortiguadoras al sujeto.
