Abstract

Se describe una prótesis de hombro inverso que incluye un soporte adaptador humeral (300) configurado para asentarse cerca de una superficie resecada de un húmero, el soporte adaptador humeral (300) comprende: una cavidad (302); un orificio central; y una cara distal (304) que incluye un buje (310), el buje (310): (i) se configura como una extensión de la cara distal, (ii) posteriormente se desvía del orificio central en por lo menos 10 mm, y (iii) se configura para acoplar un vástago humeral; y un revestimiento humeral (250) que comprende: un borde distal (252) configurado para asentarse dentro de la cavidad (302) del soporte adaptador humeral (300); y una superficie de articulación cóncava configurada para acoplarse con una superficie de articulación convexa de una glenoesfera. La desviación del soporte adaptador humeral de hombro inverso desplaza el húmero en la dirección posterior para dar lugar a una mejor deltoide envolvente, más tensión muscular anatómica, y brazos con mayor movimiento muscular durante tanto la abducción como el giro interna y externo.
