Abstract

La presente invención en una de sus modalidades ilustradas divulga una trampa para atraer hematófagos y atraparlos vivos, que consiste en una habitáculo que alberga un animal cebo para atraerlos, un receptáculo o refugio artificial como albergue temporal para retener los insectos, que contiene un plegable con orificios (cuyas geometrías pueden variar, pero que en algunas modalidades preferidas pueden ser circulares, cuadrados, rectangulares, o romboidales). Lo anterior puede complementarse con un material adhesivo, como cinta adhesiva colocada alrededor del habitáculo. Esta trampa puede ser colocada en diferentes lugares dentro o cerca a los hábitats naturales de los insectos. La efectividad del presente invento para recolectar los insectos triatominos vivos permite su colonización posterior en el laboratorio, para el estudio de la biología, genética, sistemática y comportamiento de insectos. Además permite y facilita el estudio de la epidemiología de enfermedades transmisibles a través de insectos vectores, y como herramienta de vigilancia y control de enfermedades, tales como la enfermedad de Chagas.
