Abstract
Un segmento de polea de chaveta en un sistema de transmisión por poleas de intercambio sincronizado por segmentos es el primero o el último en un conjunto de segmentos de polea para acoplarse a un miembro sin fin. Los dientes del primero o último segmento de chaveta para acoplar o desacoplar, respectivamente, se acortan o recortan completamente, y el segmento de polea adyacente al segmento de chaveta se alarga de tal manera que la porción interna del perfil dentado se extiende hacia el segmento de chaveta. El diente o dientes acortados y un segmento adyacente alargado juntos permiten que muchos segmentos de polea se diseñen como segmentos de chaveta. Las pilas unificadas pueden moverse por medio de una leva o sistema de levas y rodillos, donde cada pila unificada tiene un rodillo conectado de manera deslizable o giratoria y brazo de rodillo. Levas montadas en chasis acoplan los rodillos fuera de la zona de contacto, rodillos y brazos de rodillo se mueven dentro y fuera de acoplamiento con las levas, y los segmentos individuales de una pila unificada se mueven dentro y fuera de acoplamiento. Los rodillos pueden ser accionados dentro y fuera de acoplamiento por electroimanes, montados fijamente en una disposición. Los rodillos pueden acoplarse discretamente con varias levas, por medio de varias disposiciones de electroimanes, y de esta manera completar varios movimientos axiales de las pilas. Los electroimanes en una disposición pueden energizarse selectivamente para mover rodillos seleccionados hacia una posición activa con el fin de efectuar el acoplamiento de segmentos de polea de chaveta, el movimiento axial de las pilas y la transición.
