Abstract
Un método y un aparato para medir el nivel de líquido de una fosa de combustible usado de un reactor de agua ligera sin el uso de energía eléctrica. El método y el aparato pueden usar una fuente de gas presurizado conectada con un tubo o tubería que puede descargar cerca del fondo de la fosa de combustible usado. El sistema puede incluir un medidor de flujo y una válvula de obturación que se pueden usar para determinar la presión requerida del gas para proporcionar una velocidad de flujo específica para los niveles conocidos de agua de la fosa de combustible usado. Al obtener puntos de datos de calibración de presión y el flujo para múltiples niveles de agua de la fosa de combustible usado, se puede obtener una curva de calibración que permite la medición del nivel de líquido en la fosa de combustible usado con el uso del sistema, sin la necesidad de energía eléctrica.
