Abstract

La invención se relaciona con una célula fotoquímica (1) y con un método para la descomposición solar controlada de un material inicial, en particular agua o bióxido de carbono, en un producto gaseoso unido a él, en partícula hidrógeno o monóxido de carbono, que comprende una línea de suministro (7) para el material inicial, una línea de descarga (9) para el producto gaseoso obtenido, un primer electrodo (2) hecho de material fotoeléctricamente activo y expuesto a radiación solar (3´, 3´´) durante la operación, y un segundo electrodo (5), donde los electrodos (2, 5) son conectados entre sí en un circuito cerrado por medio de un conductor de electrones (4) para transportar electrones excitados por la radiación solar (3´, 3´´) en el primer electrodo (2) y un conductor de iones (6) para transportar los iones producidos en la descomposición del material inicial, donde un electrolito hecho de un material sólido resistente al calor o arreglado entre los electrodos (2,5) es proporcionado en el conductor de iones (6).
