Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a CO2 removido de gas de alimentación de alta presión en configuraciones y métodos de conformidad con la materia objeto poniendo en contacto el gas de alimentación con solvente semi-rico enfriado para formar una mezcla de dos fases que es vaporizada instantáneamente en la sección inferior de un absorbedor. El solvente rico del absorbedor es entonces reducido en presión para generar refrigeración para el solvente semi-rico y solvente pobre contactando de manera contracorriente el gas de alimentación parcialmente tratado en el absorbedor para producir el solvente semi-rico. Entre otras ventajas, el enfriamiento del gas de alimentación y solvente semi-rico por el solvente rico de presión reducida calienta el solvente rico para permitir regeneración mejorada del solvente, y la refrigeración externa y calentamiento del solvente pueden ser completamente evitados.
