Abstract
La válvula de retención de baja presión de apertura es un dispositivo que permite el flujo a través de ella en una sola dirección, que es capaz de abrir y cerrar de manera automática según la dirección del flujo, que su accionar se logra con una diferencia de presión extremadamente baja, que dicha presión des independiente de la dirección de montaje, y que induce una caída de presión muy pequeña en el flujo, para ello utiliza unas compuertas anguladas con mecanismo de bisagra y con formas aproximadas a semicírculos equipadas con contrapesos que reducen el torque necesario para su giro, dicha válvula es apropiada entonces para aplicaciones industriales de grandes flujos a presiones pequeñas, tales como aquellos flujos generados por los convertidores de energía del oleaje de tipo columna de agua oscilantes. Este tipo de válvulas de retención pueden ser usadas entonces para convertir el flujo oscilante que alimenta a la turbina, en un flujo uni-direccional, o permitir incluso unir el flujo proveniente de dos o más cámaras de aire con la finalidad de utilizar una sola turbina para varias cámaras de aire.
