Abstract

Se describen los métodos y sistemas para hacer mediciones azimutales utilizando una unidad de giroscopio. El método consiste en adquirir un valor de la relación entre dos componentes de la velocidad de la tierra, ortogonales entre sí, utilizando la unidad giroscopio en una posición de medición; adquirir tres componentes vectoriales de la gravedad, ortogonales entre sí, en la posición de medición; y determinar un valor de azimut con respecto a un eje de referencia previamente determinado en la unidad giroscópica, con base en el valor de la relación, los tres componentes del vector de gravedad y una latitud geodésica de la posición de medición.
