Abstract

Se describen técnicas para soportar itinerancia en redes de comunicación inalámbrica. En un diseño, un nombre de punto de acceso (APN) y un protocolo de itinerancia preferido para un equipo de usuario (UE) que hace itinerancia desde una red local hasta una red visitada puede obtenerse. El APN puede asociarse con un servicio de datos solicitado por el UE. El protocolo de itinerancia preferido puede ser Protocolo de Canalización de GPRS (GTP>, Protocolo de Internet Móvil (MIP), Protocolo de Internet Móvil con Proxy (PMIP), etc. Una entidad de red adecuada para proporcionar conectividad de datos para el UE puede determinarse basándose en el APN y el protocolo de itinerancia preferido. En un diseño, la entidad de red puede ser (i) un puerto de enlace de red de datos por paquetes (PDN) en la red local si el protocolo de itinerancia preferido es GTP o (ii) un agente local en la red local si el protocolo de itinerancia preferido es PMIP o MIP.
