Abstract

Se proporcionan composiciones y métodos para exterminar, prevenir o inhibir el crecimiento de microorganismos en un sistema acuoso u otros sistemas. Las composiciones pueden incluir por lo menos un primer polímero reticulable, por lo menos un segundo polímero reticulable y por lo menos un agente de reticulación, en donde las solubilidades en el agua de cada polímero de reticulación son diferentes, tal como por 10% a 100%. Las composiciones además pueden incluir por lo menos un componente biocida. Las composiciones se pueden formular para liberar lentamente el componente biocida y/o el polímero reticulable, o rápidamente liberar el componente biocida y lentamente liberar el polímero reticulable. Las composiciones se pueden utilizar para controlar algas.
