Abstract

Se proporcionan un aparato y método para la reducción del consumo de energía mediante la desconexión, de manera selectiva, de la recepción de cuadro mientras es transmitido el servicio no deseado. El método incluye la generación de un grupo de cuadros de servicio que incluye todos los cuadros de servicio y la designación del número de cuadro para los cuadros de servicio de modo que opere una unidad de recepción de radiofrecuencia (RF) mientras se reciben los cuadros de servicio que corresponden con el servicio deseado y es desconectada la energía de la unidad de recepción RF mientras que son transmitidos los cuadros de servicio que corresponden con el servicio no deseado, con lo cual, se ahorra energía.
