Abstract

La invención se refiere a un método y aparato para el espesamiento de líquidos que contienen partículas suspendidas, en donde una suspensión de alimentación es alimentada a un tanque de espesamiento a través de un pozo de alimentación (4). El problema a ser resuelto es el de reducir la pérdida de mezclado en el pozo de alimentación causada por variaciones en la velocidad de flujo de la suspensión alimentada. La solución consiste en variar el área de sección transversal del tubo de alimentación en respuesta a variaciones en la velocidad de flujo dentro del tubo de alimentación, con el fin de mantener una velocidad suficiente para la suspensión que sale del tubo de alimentación.
