Abstract
La invención se relaciona con un aparato y un método para el espesamiento de líquidos que transportan partículas suspendidas, tal como lechada que contiene minerales. El aparato espesador comprende un tanque (2), un pozo de alimentación que incluye una cámara que tiene una admisión para la recepción de la lechada alimentada (9) y una salida en comunicación fluida con el tanque, y medios para la distribución de material en el tanque, por lo menos un conducto (5) para alimentación de la lechada para entregar una lechada alimentada (9) dentro del pozo de alimentación, medios para dilución de la lechada alimentada, cuando por lo menos un conducto (16, 19) de líquido de dilución separado está dirigido en forma tangencial con respecto al pozo de alimentación (4) y por lo menos una abertura (15) de flujo de entrada está dispuesta en forma tangencial con respecto al pozo de alimentación para recircular el líquido de dilución desde el tanque, dentro del pozo de alimentación, con el fin de diluir la lechada alimentada.
