Abstract

Esta invención está dirigida a un método para reducir la demanda de agua de perlita expandida que incluye obtener un filtro vibrador soportado en un ángulo y colocar la perlita expandida sobre el filtro vibrador. La perlita expandida se mueve sobre el filtro hacia un quemador a una velocidad que calienta la perlita expandida a una temperatura suficiente para recocerla. La perlita expandida se aleja entonces del quemador y se le permite enfriarse. Otra modalidad de esta invención está dirigida a un método para hacer un producto de yeso. El método incluye recocer la perlita mediante el método antes descrito, después preparar un lechado de sulfato de calcio hemihidratado, aditivos, agua y la perlita recocida. El lechado se forma en la forma de un producto de yeso y se le permite cuajarse. Este proceso es particularmente útil para hacer paneles de yeso y paneles acústicos que se benefician del uso de los materiales ligeros.
