Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un gen de ubiquitina ligasa E3 de tipo RING regulado por nitrógeno que se requiere para la sensibilización el azúcar y la modulación de la expresión de este gen para modular una característica en una planta. La ubiquitina ligasa E3 de tipo RING de la presente invención esta implicada en la mediación de respuestas de adaptación a la limitación de nitrógeno en plantas y su expresión es influida por el estado de nitrógeno en plantas y su expresión es influida por el estado de nitrógeno. L a expresión incrementada de este o genes sustancialmente similares puede producir plantas con una utilización de nitrógeno mejorada y un rendimiento incrementado.
