Abstract
Se presenta un sistema compuesto de un dispositivo modulador y dispositivo modulador y dispositivo demodulador opto-electrónicos para comunicar sistemas de comunicación óptica por medio de modulación diferencial con ocho cambios de fase. Este sistema es capaz de incrementar la capacidad de información transmitida hasta tres veces más comparada a un sistema con dos cambios de fase. Los formatos de modulación que el sistema puede transmitir son denominados como: NRZ-D8PSK, RZ-D8PSK, D8PSK.Se presenta un diseño del modulador compuesto por un precodificador de modulación diferencial y moduladores de fase de señales ópticas, donde las señales que salen del precodificador, controla los moduladores de fase para producir la modulación diferencial con ocho cambios de fase a la señal óptica que proviene de un láser semiconductor. También se presenta un diseño de un demodulador colocado en el extremo terminal del sistema de comunicación compuesto por tres ramas receptoras cada una compuesta con diferentes dispositivos electrónicos utilizados para procesar electrónicamente las señales recibidas.
