Abstract

La presente invencion esta dirigida a metodos y formulaciones para tratar constipacion cronica. Los metodos y formulaciones incluyen, pero no se limitan a, metodos y formulaciones para surtir concentraciones efectivas de metformina para tratar constipacion cronica y comprenden ademas al menos un ingrediente farmaceuticamente aceptable para controlar la liberacion de la metformina, en donde despues de la administracion, la liberacion de metformina es distal a los sitios gastrointestinales para lograr absorcion sistemica de metformina. La invencion tambien esta dirigida a tratar la constipacion como un sintoma asociado con otras enfermedades y condiciones tal como el sindrome del colon irritable.
